On December 17-19 we had a couple of Horse Related Projects. We installed Hitching Rails at the Elks Lodge in Apache Junction and on Saturday we worked with the Forest Service brushing out the Bull Basin Trail # 270 in the Superstition Wilderness. We trimmed back both high & low brush, cleared rock from the trail and repaired switchbacks.
When I rode up to the Elks Lodge for breakfast on Sunday morning there were 27 horses tied to the hitching rails. They sure are getting used! I will contact Pinal County/Apache Junction Parks & Rec. to see if we can get a gate installed from the State Trust Land so we don't have to ride the road ditch to get into the Elks Lodge.
